The CALIUM Eco-System is designed to manage the supply and demand inflation of CALIUM, the core currency of CALIVERSE, by applying a strict formula to create a sustainable platform service. CALIUM is issued by providing liquidity, and if the issuance volume exceeds the standard supply, the system raises the price of Paid Issuance to manage inflation. This entire process is supported by blockchain technology.
The CALIUM Eco-System is scheduled for an update in January 2025, at which time the contents described in this document may take effect.
Traditionally, in the platform services where economic systems exist, the value of goods used tends to decline over time as they are issued infinitely, facing inflation as the service period lengthens. Moreover, not only in services but also in the real economy, there are numerous examples of inflation mismanagement, where currency values fall and entire Eco-Systems collapse.
However, as a global key currency, the US dollar might serve as a positive example of proactive government monetary policy in managing inflation. When currency circulation surpasses the economic growth rate within an ecosystem, the currency’s value decreases; conversely, when growth outpaces currency circulation, its value rises. This is all a natural phenomenon. The key is to maintain a proper balance between the economic growth rate of the Eco-System and the amount of currency in circulation to create a sustainable Eco-System.
For several years now, many blockchain products have aimed for full On-Chain services, but achieving mass adoption from a user experience perspective has been challenging. The primary reason Web 2.0-based services continue to dominate is that, technically, Web 3.0 is positioned as a horizontal expansion of Web 2.0, rather than a vertical progression. Each environment has its pros and cons, but since the philosophy and technical concepts of Web 3.0 have clear advantages in terms of reliability, transparency, and completeness, CALIVERSE has designed its project by effectively utilizing these elements.
In existing services, since the Product Life Cycle (PLC) is limited, companies tend to view services as a single product, and this dominant perspective makes such an approach difficult to find in services run by traditional companies. However, CALIVERSE aims to establish itself as the leading online metaverse service when the Web 3.0 Eco-System's bubble bursts, leaving only the true players.
As such, CALIVERSE has shifted the focus to sustainability not as a product with a limited life cycle but as a semi-permanent platform service.
The CALIUM Eco-System, integrated with blockchain, originated from this background. A sophisticated formula for positive inflation management was designed in relation to the economic system, and blockchain technology, which takes user experience into account, was introduced to demonstrate completeness in terms of reliability, transparency, and data integrity. As a result, it is structured by combining the strengths of Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 technology.
Hybrid Architecture
CALIUM uses the unit "Epoch" to roll up Off-Chain data onto On-Chain.
An Epoch represents 24 hours in the real world, essentially meaning one day.
Data rolled up On-Chain is considered "finalized" and therefore cannot be altered or tampered with in the future.
The finalized data from the previous Epoch is used to determine the Paid Issuance CALIUM price and reward CALIUM for the next Epoch.
On-Chain data includes all Liquidity flows, such as the New Issuance and burning of CALIUM, ensuring full "transparency" as anyone can view it.
Additionally, CALIUM's New Issuance and usage leverage Web 2.0 technologies to resolve user access and speed issues for better convenience.
Eco-Reward
Although most New Issuance of CALIUM is driven by Liquidity supply, at least 10% of New Issuance is redistributed as Eco-Reward CALIUM through a logic of Eco-System redistribution to support Eco-System growth.
In other words, as demand for CALIUM increases, the reward CALIUM allocated to the Eco-System also increases, fueling new user inflow and Eco-System growth.
Inflation Model Using Standard Supply
CALIUM’s Paid Issuance price is adjusted on an Epoch basis, comparing the Standard Supply with the Circulation Supply.
CALIVERSE applies logic to increase the CALIUM Price when the Circulation Supply exceeds the Standard Supply.
Of course, all of this is based on finalized On-Chain data.
By curbing Circulation Volume inflation, CALIUM ensures the Eco-System maintains its value and builds a sustainable economic system.
CALIUM will become a key asset connecting the Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 environments within the CALIVERSE Eco-System.
The introduction of the CALIUM Eco-System is the first step toward expanding CALIUM's reach into the Web 3.0 space, and it will gradually achieve milestones that enable full functionality on an On-Chain platform.
